For two seasons, Nelson served as the league-side Executive Producer for the Sports Emmy Nominated soccer magazine show, MLS Insider. The department programming team, including a supervising producer, a social producer, and a production assistant, developed the editorial calendar, season long episode structure, and episodic storylines, which often aligned with various league and club-wide marketing initiatives.
Nelson led season long, episode and story development along with overseeing an intensive post production review and publishing process, collaborating effectively throughout with production partner, nine-time Emmy award winners, Hock Films.
MLS Insider – Thumbnail Art Campaign
It’s widely known how important the thumbnail image is for content discovery among a sea of competitive choices. As a promotional campaign for season two of MLS Insider, we commissioned the Futbol Artist Network to develop a unique piece of digital art for each episode thumbnail. The graphic illustration campaign was very well received within the social soccer community and also acted as a visually dynamic on-site art installation for the annual MLS All Star event week.

His goal celebration, the robot dance, is inspired by a celebration in the FIFA video game, and shows no sign of letting up as he recently opened his goalscoring account with the Mexican National Team in what was only his third senior team cap.
